Caroling With A Cause

Their Annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Caroling

Featuring the Letterman Quartet

5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, December 6th

at Historic Untermyer Park

The Untermyer Performing Arts Council is pleased to announce our Annual Tree Lighting and Evening of Holiday Songs will be held Friday, December 6th at 5:30 p.m. at Untermyer Park.  This evening continues UPAC’s decades long tradition of hosting community tree lightings, bringing musical entertainment to our park, and supporting the less fortunate residents of Yonkers..

The evening, to be emceed by Yonkers Board of Education President Reverend Steven Lopez, features performances by the 2019 Yonkers Idols, the Letterman Quartet, and our special guests leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance, Girl Scouts Troop 1727.  The outdoor ceremonies will be capped with our good friend and long-time UPAC supporter Majority Leader Michael Sabatino lighting our beautiful community tree.  Perhaps most exciting, Santa Claus, our favorite resident of the North Pole, just might be visiting us that evening!

After the outdoor festivities, capped by lighting our holiday tree, the entertainment moves inside for hot chocolate and light refreshments, the Letterman Quartet will lead us all in a fun round of holiday songs.

The Letterman Quartet was formed at a moment's notice to appear on “The Late Show with David Letterman” in 1995 to sing their “Top Ten List.” The show producers liked what they saw, and had this talented group perform eight additional times on the show.  They also have appeared on ABC's "The View,” on various TVLand Channel programs, and numerous times on Westchester's cable Channel 12. Because of their many appearances on national television, they were labeled in Harmonizer Magazine's cover story as one of The Barbershop Harmony Society's most influential quartets.

The group is based in the Westchester area, with lead singer Bob Seda of Yonkers, Riverdale’s Steve Delehanty is the baritone, bass Al Fennell of Shrub Oak and Tom LaMotte of Bedford is the singing tenor.

UPAC is asking all attendees to open their hearts to support our toy drive for the children in the Rising Ground Foster Care Program.  We ask each person bring an unwrapped toy or two or gift card to help UPAC bring the Christmas spirit to each deserving child, putting a smile of joy on each child’s face.

The Untermyer Performing Arts Council is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to continuing the tradition of Minnie and Samuel Untermyer, bringing musical entertainment to our treasure of a park and the people of Yonkers throughout the year.

Our events are admission free and open to the public, and all are welcome.  This event will be held rain, snow or shine.

This program, done in cooperation with Mayor Mike Spano and the Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, is made possible by Arts Westchester with support from Westchester County Government and the City of Yonkers.  Additional funding has been provided by Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins, Senator Shelley Mayer, Assembly Member Nader Sayegh, and our other generous supporters.
