Nanette Bourne, Floyd Myers, and Anthony Simari. On the evening of September 26, friends of Groundwork Hudson Valley will gather at X2O to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Science Barge. The event will also honor our partners, who played a critical role in Groundwork’s mission to create sustainable environmental change in our neighborhoods through community-based partnerships that promote equity, youth leadership, and economic opportunity. This year’s honorees are Nanette Bourne, Floyd Myers, and Anthony Simari.

Nanette Bourne, Principal and Director of Hudson Valley Services for Sam Schwartz Consulting, leads major urban and environmental planning projects throughout the Hudson Valley and is the planning consultant for several Westchester communities. When she encountered Groundwork Hudson Valley during early phases of the Yonkers Greenway, she saw a shared mission of creating healthy, community based, and welcoming spaces.

Floyd Myers, Chief of Business Development and Partnerships for the National Parks of New York Harbor, works closely with superintendents, park managers and partners for the National Parks of New York Harbor, which includes three National Parks with twenty-three destinations throughout New York City and New Jersey. He establishes mutually beneficial partnerships with nonprofits, local and federal agencies and other groups to accomplish the mission of the National Park Service.

Anthony Simari, a Partner at Holm & O’Hara, LLP, has extensive experience in negotiating and closing complex commercial real estate transactions, including acquisition, development and financing of apartment buildings, commercial and retail properties, office buildings, and air and development rights throughout New York City and the metropolitan region. He serves on the Groundwork Hudson Valley Board and has been instrumental in helping Groundwork with its real estate and legal needs.

A special tribute will be given to Holly Malekian, who has retired as Groundwork’s Director of Development after 7 years of dedicated service to the organization.

The event will host a robust live auction featuring auctioneer Nicholas Lowry, appraiser on PBS’s Antiques Roadshow. Lowry is president and principal auctioneer of Swann Auction Galleries in New York City.
