The Westchester Bank is pleased to announce its selection as a “2017 Best Banks to Work For” in the United States. The Best Banks to Work For program, which identifies, recognizes and honors U.S. banks for outstanding employee satisfaction, was initiated in 2013 by American Banker and Best Companies Group. It is open to commercial banks, thrifts, savings banks and other chartered retail financial institutions with at least 50 employees. Most recently, The Westchester Bank was also selected a “Best Company to Work For in New York State.”
John M. Tolomer, President & CEO of The Westchester Bank stated, “This is an important and significant recognition that we’re all very proud to announce. There’s no greater feeling than knowing that the people who are the backbone of your organization enjoy and appreciate their workplace environment. Our blueprint for success is Banking Made Personal and it takes a special individual to understand why that’s important to the Bank’s overall operation, both with customers and behind the scenes as well.” Mr. Tolomer continued, “Everything we do starts with respecting each employee and their roles toward a common goal. Providing the proper tools to grow within an environment of mutual respect and accountability has forged a great staff that comes to work every day with an attitude both positive and contagious. That positive attitude impacts all aspects of our business, especially when it comes to our customers. A special thanks to each of our 68 employees for a job well done. The Bank remains fully committed to job satisfaction, career development and personal growth.” Tolomer concluded.
Determining the involves a two-step process. The first step is an evaluation of participating companies’ work place policies, practices and demographics. Following that, employee surveys are conducted to directly assess the experiences and attitudes of individual employees with respect to their workplace. The combined scores determine the top banks and the final ranking. The Westchester Bank was ranked #21 in the entire country.
