Additionally, the district's Center for Continuing Education offers adult and youth programs for high school diplomas and job training. Yonkers Public Schools provides educational services through an innovative magnet school program -- the most comprehensive in the region and one of only a few full-magnet school districts in the United States. The district's 26,201 students may select from magnet programs including Computer Science, the Law and Public Service, Performing Arts, Television Production, Bio Environmental Technology and many more. Several Yonkers schools and programs have been the focus of national and international acclaim. Educators have visited as observers from across the United States, and from Europe and Asia, seeking to emulate the district's programs. The Yonkers Public Schools is a leader in providing high quality early childhood education, which studies have linked to later academic success. Currently, the district offers full-day pre-kindergarten and full-day kindergarten at every elementary school in the district. The district's elementary schools offer a variety of magnet programs such as Montessori education programs, a Family School, the PEARLS program for gifted and talented students, and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.
